“I am an innovation-driven professional with a combination of strong research, and academic  background with organizing, administrative and networking skills.”

On the personal side

I was born in Mexico City, where I live the first 30 years of my life. Since 2005, I am living in Europe where I live on permanent basis. The time I lived in Mexico allowed me to become a passionate curious person, sometimes the lack of resources increased the need to look for alternatives and innovative ideas to solve problems. I decided to become engineer on that premise, solving problems through new ideas.

Later on, I become aware that problems are not only related to machines or processes, but directly to people. The need to create products or services should have a positive impact on the society, this made me reflect on the importance of looking the best way to contribute to a better society.

I am person with strong family values, I like to travel, to talk to people, to learn from others. I like to volunteer myself into projects and actions to help young people to find their way to achieve their professional goals.

My hobby for many years is related to electronics, to build small devices and learn on new technology. In the 90’s I was interested in microcontrollers and how to design smart devices.  Nowadays, I continue more or less on the same line, I like to play with Raspberry Pi micro computers and Arduinos’ systems to develop some sensors and devices for Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

Europe and Mexico are in my heart, therefore, since 2009 I have been developing a professional network with highly skill professionals that are interested promoting cooperation between these two regions.

I consider myself as a team-oriented leader and senior researcher with a broad international experience, working in Mexico, Germany and Belgium.

I am deeply interested to solve a broad range of complex issues, in particular where international skills and multicultural talents are a fundamental key for assure the success. To keep myself update, I am constantly in contact with my extended global professional network with professionals and experts in more than 2000 different institutions around the globe.

My research interests are in Mechatronics and development of Intelligent Devices. In Germany I was in charge of the development and management of a research group with an intense collaboration with Industry. I worked intensively with Piezoelectric Actuators for several applications, for instance Ultrasonic Wire Bonding and Ultrasonic cutting.

Since 2007 I am involved in medical projects using self-sensing actuators for smart instruments. This research led me to acquire experience in mechanical characterization of soft materials, for instance biological tissues and tissue phantoms. In particular, I worked with indentation tests to obtain viscoelastic parameters.

My personal research project is related to the development of intelligent instruments for tissue differentiation to assist neurosurgeons during brain tumor resection.

In addition to my research, I have developed experience in academic management and policies in higher education, with a particular focus with internationalization and university-business collaboration.

Currently, I work with several Higher Education and Research Institutions to provide advice and consultancy services. More information you will find it in this website.
